FiveM for GTAV Enhanced: Early Access Hotfix — September 24

A new FiveM for GTAV Enhanced hotfix is live. It addresses the issues reported since the September 22 patch on the GitHub Discussions page, spanning resource restarts, decorators, key mappings, script event limits, and a couple of client crash fixes.

Below is the full breakdown of everything in this hotfix.

Resource Loading & Restarts

  • ensure and start match the resource name exactly again — so running ensure Vehicle no longer starts Vehicle_public instead (#509). A quiet but important fix for anyone who manages resources from the console or a restart script.
  • Threads created while a resource is loading now get their first tick after onClientResourceStart has fired, matching the server and Legacy. Previously a table filled in that handler could be read empty on the first tick (#522).
  • AddEventHandler keeps function references passed in from another resource, so a callback handed over through an export is called with the reference again instead of nil (#539).
  • Restarting or ensuring a resource no longer crashes connected clients (#534). This is the one that hurt most in practice: a routine resource restart taking down everyone currently connected.
  • Resources that ship both a stream and a stream_enhanced folder now also skip the stream folder when files are matched with a wildcard — completing the change from the September 22 patch.

Input & Key Mappings

  • Input no longer crosses between NUI and the game when focus changes. Specifically (#541):
    • A key release is no longer swallowed when NUI takes focus mid-press, so the - command of a RegisterKeyMapping binding runs and the key doesn't stay stuck until a second press.
    • Clicks inside a focused NUI no longer register as game controls.

Networking & Script Events

  • The script event rate limit is less strict again, so server callbacks no longer time out while a player is joining. It allows around 75 events per second by default and stays adjustable with the rate limiter convars (#540).

Voice

  • A player who is nearby and on the radio at the same time is now heard through both the 3D and the 2D output, from the same voice data, instead of only one of them.

Performance

  • State bag writes are faster when no listener is registered yet — including a player state bag set before the player is fully registered.
  • The script profiler no longer leaves parts of itself running when profiling is off, removing a small amount of continuous script overhead.

Crash & Stability Fixes

  • Decorators no longer fill their pool and crash the client with Pool Full, Size == 1500 (#535).
  • Fixed a client crash while rendering the game view.

What This Means For Your Server

  • The resource restart crash fix is the headline for server owners. If restarting a resource has been disconnecting or crashing everyone online, that's now addressed (#534) — which makes live restarts a far less terrifying operation on a populated server.
  • The rate limit change fixes a genuinely annoying symptom. Server callbacks timing out while a player is joining is the classic "why do I get errors when someone connects during a busy moment" problem. Around 75 events per second by default is far more forgiving, and the rate limiter convars are still there if you want to tune it.
  • Check your restart scripts for the exact-name matching change. ensure Vehicle no longer starts Vehicle_public. If you had come to rely on partial matching — deliberately or by accident — your script may now need the full resource name.
  • Map-heavy servers benefit from the decorator fix. Pool Full, Size == 1500 crashes were the kind of thing a content-heavy server hits after heavy decoration use. Worth re-testing the areas your players reported crashing in.
  • Update the server build alongside the client. This is a hotfix in the same series as the September 22 patch, so keep both sides on current builds to avoid mismatches.
  • Voice and NUI fixes are the ones your players will notice. Being heard on both radio and proximity output at once, and no longer having keys stuck after interacting with a NUI menu, are exactly the little friction points that generate support tickets.

Conclusion

This hotfix is a focused cleanup of the September 22 patch's rough edges: exact resource name matching for ensure and start, thread timing that matches Legacy, function references surviving exports, no more client crashes on resource restart, NUI and game input no longer bleeding into each other, a less strict script event rate limit so server callbacks survive players joining, dual 3D and 2D voice output for nearby radio users, faster state bag writes, and fixes for the decorator pool crash and a client rendering crash.

Update your server build, re-test your resource restarts, and check anything that relied on partial resource name matching.
