Enshrouded Hotfix 1.0.0.1 — Crash Fixes, The Fire Wisp Scroll Pinned To Level 27 & A World-Edit Bug

Hotfix 1.0.0.1 is the first patch after Enshrouded's 1.0 launch, posted on October 15, 2026 under build version 1267041. Keen Games are calling it their first batch of fixes, and it's short: five fixes, and then two known issues they want players to know about before they report them.

The official notes come straight from the developers — check out the entire changelog from the developers of Enshrouded.

🛠️ What Hotfix 1.0.0.1 Fixes

  • Fixed several issues that could cause random crashes.
  • Fixed a dynamic lighting issue that caused indoor brightness problems.
  • The "Fire Wisp" scroll now has a fixed level 27. Previously its damage scaled with the player's level, which made the scroll ridiculously strong in the end game.
  • Updated the artbook and world map available in the Deluxe Upgrade Pack.
  • Fixed crashes caused by specific peripherals attached to the PC.

🔥 The One Balance Change: Fire Wisp Is Now Level 27

Everything else in this hotfix is a bug fix, which makes the Fire Wisp change the only item here that alters how the game plays — and it's worth understanding why it moved.

The scroll's damage previously scaled with the player's level rather than being tied to a fixed tier. On a level-50 character with 1.0's new endgame gear, that turns a mid-tier scroll into something far stronger than anything else you could be carrying, with no progression or cost attached to it. Pinning it to a fixed level 27 returns it to being a solid item for its tier instead of an endgame outlier. If you were leaning on it, expect a hit; if you never found it, nothing about your build changes.

💡 Indoor Lighting Fixed

The dynamic lighting fix targets a bug that made interiors read too bright. With 1.0 introducing per-biome lighting, air moisture and sky atmosphere settings, plus improved global illumination, a brightness bug indoors is exactly the sort of artefact that shows up right after a rendering overhaul — and the sort that makes a base feel wrong without players being able to say why. Fixed.

🎁 Deluxe Upgrade Pack Updated

The artbook and world map bundled with the Deluxe Upgrade Pack were updated. Cosmetic for most players, but if you bought the pack for the artbook, the version you get is now current rather than pre-1.0.

⚠️ Two Known Issues

Sound, specifically reverb: Keen Games are observing an issue with reverb in large halls or rooms and with the dynamically lowered gameplay sounds while lore voice-over is playing. It only appears when the master volume slider is below 100%. Until there's a fix, they recommend keeping the master volume at 100% and adjusting other volume levels instead.

World editing can break: an issue appeared with this hotfix where the edit button for your world stops working. The temporary workaround is to subscribe to anything — anything at all — in adventure sharing, then try editing the world again.

🖥️ What This Means For Your Server

  • Update server and clients together, promptly. Random crashes and peripheral-triggered crashes are both fixed here, and on a shared world one player on the old build is enough to create version-mismatch headaches. Get the server patched before your busy hours rather than during them.
  • Tell your players about the world-edit workaround. The edit button failing is a support conversation waiting to happen, and the fix is genuinely odd enough that nobody will guess it: subscribe to something in adventure sharing, then try editing again. Posting that saves you answering it twenty times.
  • Worth passing on: don't drag the master volume below 100%. The reverb and voice-over mixing bug only shows up below 100%, so a quick note in your Discord spares players from hunting a problem that has a one-line workaround. Use the individual sliders instead.
  • Expect questions about the Fire Wisp scroll. It's the only balance change in the patch and it hits hard on high-level characters. Knowing it's now a fixed level 27 item — not a nerf to the spell itself — is the difference between a calm answer and a rumour about endgame spells being gutted.
  • Deluxe Upgrade Pack holders should check their artbook. Minor, but a nice thing for a community to know is current.
  • This is a stabilisation patch, not a rebalance. No progression, spawn or economy changes — so there's nothing to test in your world beyond taking a backup before you update, as always.

Conclusion

Enshrouded's first post-launch patch, Hotfix 1.0.0.1 (version 1267041), is five fixes and two known issues: random crash fixes, an indoor dynamic lighting brightness fix, the "Fire Wisp" scroll pinned to a fixed level 27 after scaling with player level made it absurdly strong in the endgame, an updated artbook and world map in the Deluxe Upgrade Pack, and fixes for crashes caused by specific PC peripherals. On the known-issues side, reverb and voice-over audio misbehave when master volume is below 100%, and if the world edit button stops working, subscribing to anything in adventure sharing is the temporary workaround.
