Enshrouded Hotfix 1.0.0.2 — World Settings Fixed, Save-Migration Crashes & A Wide Stability Sweep

Hotfix 1.0.0.2 is Keen Games' third patch in three days, posted on October 16, 2026 under version 1269579. Where 1.0.0.1 was five fixes and two known issues, this one is a fifteen-item stability sweep — plus a regression the previous hotfix introduced, and an honest note about characters that went missing during save migration.

The official notes come straight from the developers — check out the entire changelog from the developers of Enshrouded.

Missing a character? Don't delete anything. A rare crash during save migration meant corrupted character saves were not migrated in this hotfix. Keen Games say a fix is on the way that will allow migration and repair the corrupted character at the same time — so if a character is absent from your list right now, the advice is explicitly to be patient. The save data hasn't been thrown away by you doing nothing.

⚙️ World Settings Fixed — A Regression From 1.0.0.1

  • Fixed an issue that prevented configuring world settings. It was introduced accidentally in the previous hotfix, while the session lists in the multiplayer join menus were being fixed.

Worth calling out for what it says about the pace of patches: fixing the multiplayer join menus in 1.0.0.1 broke world settings configuration in the process, and 1.0.0.2 puts it back. If you've been unable to change difficulty, enemy density, or the other world options in the last day, that's the cause — not your save.

💾 Save Migration: Corrupted Characters Are No Longer Migrated

  • Fixed a rare crash during save game migration. It previously occurred when trying to load a corrupted character save. With this hotfix, such corrupted characters will not be migrated.
  • Keen Games are working on a fix that will allow migration and fix the corrupted characters simultaneously.

The crash is gone, but the trade-off is deliberate and temporary: a corrupted character is skipped during migration rather than crashing the process. That's the right call — one character missing beats a failed migration for the whole save — but it means some players will log in and find a character absent from their list. If that's you, the character isn't deleted; it's waiting for the repair-and-migrate fix.

🌫️ The Nvidia Grey Fog

  • Fixed a strange-looking rendering issue where the game looks like it's in a very dense grey fog — not, as the notes put it, nice and spooky like the Shroud. It appeared only on Nvidia graphics cards and manifested particularly often in the Hollow Halls.

A vendor-specific rendering bug that concentrates in one type of location is the hardest kind to diagnose from a player report — "the game looks foggy" is not obviously a graphics driver issue. If your players were reporting greyed-out Hollow Halls runs, this is the fix, and it's client-side: they need the patch, not a server change.

🏭 Factories

  • Fixed an issue with factories crashing in rare cases when being placed down, or failing to show the correct menu when interacting with them.

🗣️ Skill Tree Localization

  • Fixed localization issues in the skill tree for Aerial Wand Attack, Evasion Attack, Wand Evasion Attack and Crash Down Attack in several languages.
  • Further skill descriptions are on their way in the next patch.

All four of those skills are new in 1.0 — three of them part of the mage rework — so missing or wrong translations are exactly what you'd expect from a launch-day skill tree. The note that more descriptions are still coming is useful: don't assume a skill is broken if its text is still thin.

✈️ Crashes In Entity-Heavy Worlds

  • Fixed a crash when fast traveling or landing with a glider in a world with a lot of entities — enemies, survivors, mannequins and so on.

This is the item that reads most like a server problem. A world with many entities is what a long-running community save becomes, and both fast travel and glider landings are the moments the game has to load and evaluate a large area at once. On a mature world, that combination was a crash waiting for the busiest possible moment.

📥 Adventure Share

  • Increased the stability of Adventure Share subscribing.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur while browsing shared adventures or starting a download.

Given 1.0 launched with Sparkworks and adventure sharing as headline features, stabilising the subscribe path a day after release is the right priority — that's the flow every player uses to try someone else's creation.

🛠️ The Stability Sweep

  • Fixed several rare and randomly occurring crashes.
  • Fixed several rare crashes connected to the water simulation.
  • Fixed an issue that could lead to the server crashing when fighting a very large number of enemies.
  • Fixed a rare crash that could occur in connection with the Twitch link server.
  • Fixed a rare crash that only appeared when playing with a completely filled backpack.
  • Fixed potential crashes that could occur while exiting the game.

The second and third items are the ones that matter for hosting. Water simulation is a per-frame system that touches any world with rivers, lakes or coastline — which is most of them — and a server crash when fighting a very large number of enemies is the classic failure mode of a big community event: gather everyone, pull a large spawn, lose the world. Both are now patched.

🖥️ What This Means For Your Server

  • Update promptly — this is the stability patch. Between the water simulation crashes, the server crash on large enemy fights, fast-travel and glider crashes in entity-heavy worlds, and the exit crash, this release cleans up exactly the failures a populated world hits first.
  • Take a backup before you update, and keep it. Migration is still being repaired for corrupted characters, and the safe path through that is a snapshot you can fall back on. One-click restore exists for this exact situation.
  • Reassure players with missing characters — don't let them delete saves. The message from Keen Games is explicit: help is coming, and corrupted characters are being skipped rather than damaged further. Anyone who "fixes" it by deleting their save folder turns a waiting problem into a permanent one.
  • World settings work again. If you've been unable to adjust difficulty, enemy density or the other world options since 1.0.0.1, 1.0.0.2 restores that — worth checking your settings survived the gap.
  • Tell Nvidia players the grey fog is a known-and-fixed bug. It's client-side, so server-side troubleshooting won't help, and "reinstall your drivers" is the wrong advice.
  • Adventure Share stability improves for everyone. If you host a shared adventure or point players at community creations, subscribing and downloading is now less likely to crash — relevant for a feature that's only days old.
  • Three patches in three days means version alignment matters. Keep clients and server on 1.0.0.2 rather than assuming last night's build is close enough.

Conclusion

Hotfix 1.0.0.2 (version 1269579) is a fifteen-fix stability release. It restores world settings configuration after 1.0.0.1 accidentally broke it, stops save-migration crashes on corrupted character saves — skipping them for now while a repair-and-migrate fix is developed — fixes an Nvidia-only grey fog rendering issue that showed up most in the Hollow Halls, repairs factories crashing on placement and their interaction menus, and fixes skill tree localisation for Aerial Wand Attack, Evasion Attack, Wand Evasion Attack and Crash Down Attack. Beyond that: crashes on fast travel and glider landings in entity-heavy worlds, Adventure Share subscribing and download crashes, and a sweep covering random crashes, water simulation crashes, a server crash when fighting very large numbers of enemies, the Twitch link server, a full backpack, and exiting the game.
