How to Set Up a Discord Bot for FiveM (txAdmin)

Last updated: August 18, 2026

This guide shows you how to create a Discord bot and connect it to your FiveM server using txAdmin. Once connected, the bot can post your server status, player counts, and restart schedules directly into your Discord server.

You don't need to know how to code — everything is done through the Discord Developer Portal and the txAdmin Setup page. Follow the steps below in order.

1. Create a Discord Application

A Discord bot lives inside a Discord Application. You create the application first, then the bot, and finally invite it. This gives you the ID and token you'll need later.

  1. Open the Discord Developer Portal.
  2. Click New Application and give it a name (for example your FiveM server name).
  3. Click Create.
  4. Take note of the Application ID — you'll need it to invite the bot. You can copy it again later from the General Information page.

2. Get the Bot Token

A bot is created automatically whenever you make a new application. The token is the secret key txAdmin uses to log in as your bot.

  1. Go to Bot in the left sidebar (under the name of your application).
  2. Click Reset Token and confirm, then copy the token that appears.
  3. Keep it somewhere safe — you'll paste it into txAdmin in a later step.
Caution: Never share your bot token with anyone. It is a secret key — if someone gets it, they can control your bot and cause a security issue. If it ever leaks, reset it immediately.

3. Enable the Server Members Intent

  1. While still on the Bot page, scroll down to Privileged Gateway Intents.
  2. Toggle on Server Members Intent.
  3. Click Save Changes.

4. Invite the Bot to Your Discord Server

Now you'll add the bot to your Discord server using an invite link. Replace YOUR_CLIENT_ID in the link below with the Application ID (client ID) you copied in step 1:

https://discord.com/oauth2/authorize?client_id=YOUR_CLIENT_ID&scope=bot&permissions=18432

Open the link in your browser, pick your Discord server, review the permissions, and click Authorize.

5. Get Your Server ID (and Optional Channel ID)

txAdmin needs to know which Discord server the bot will operate on.

  1. Server ID — Right-click your server's icon in Discord and choose Copy Server ID. Save it.
  2. Channel ID (optional) — To post status updates in a specific channel, right-click that channel and choose Copy Channel ID. Make sure the bot has permission to read and write in that channel.
Tip: If the Copy Server ID / Copy Channel ID options don't appear, you need to enable Developer Mode first. In Discord, go to User Settings → Advanced → Developer Mode and turn it on.

6. Configure the Bot in txAdmin

  1. Log in to txAdmin for your FiveM server (accessible from the NolimitHost Game Panel at https://game.nolimit.host/).
  2. Open the txAdmin Setup page and find the Discord section.
  3. Toggle the Discord bot enabled.
  4. Paste the values you saved earlier:
    • Bot Token — from step 2.
    • Application ID — from step 1.
    • Server ID — from step 5.
    • Channel ID — from step 5 (optional).
  5. Save your changes. txAdmin will now connect the bot to your Discord server.

7. Optional: Send a Status Message

You can have the bot post a live, auto-updating status message showing the current server status, players, and more:

  1. In your Discord server, go to the channel where you invited the bot.
  2. Type /status add and send it.
  3. The bot will create a status message that updates automatically. Make sure the bot has permission to send messages in that channel.

Everything on that message — text, embeds, colors — can be customized on the Discord settings page inside txAdmin.

Conclusion

You've now connected a Discord bot to your FiveM server via txAdmin. The bot can display your server status and other information in Discord, keeping your community updated automatically. If you need any help, reach out to our support team — we're available every day to assist.
